Rough textures and raw clay bodies allow further connection with the clay. you can feel the difference.

Clay undergoes multiple atmospheres to become a final product, two firings, streams of water and glaze. These transition periods in heat and liquid transform the materiel in unpredictable ways. My pots often embrace elements of fragility and unpredictability in these transitions.

Some of my work meditates on the use of repetitive motions to create surface design or glaze patterning.
